Achieve independence: Our story and mission
Discover the passion and principles that drive Achieve Independence Pty Ltd, a registered NDIS provider dedicated to empowering people with disabilities in Melbourne, Australia. Learn about our commitment to personalised support, dignity, and independence.

Our founding story: empowering independence
Achieve Independence was founded with one simple belief: every person deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, choice, and independence. We recognised that people with disabilities thrive when they receive personalised, respectful, and compassionate support that focuses on their strengths rather than their limitations. That belief inspired us to create a service where every individual is heard, valued, and empowered to achieve their personal goals.

Our passionate team: making a difference
Our team is passionate about making a positive difference in people’s lives. We understand that independence looks different for everyone, so we work closely with each participant, their families, and their support networks to provide care that reflects their unique needs, preferences, and aspirations. Whether it’s helping someone develop life skills, participate in their community, build confidence, or achieve greater independence at home, we celebrate every milestone alongside the people we support.

Truly individualised support: our unique approach
At Achieve Independence, we believe no two people are the same, which is why we never take a one-size-fits-all approach to support. We begin by taking the time to get to know each participant—their goals, strengths, interests, cultural background, preferences, and the outcomes they want to achieve. Working closely with participants, their families, carers, and support coordinators, we develop personalised support plans that reflect what matters most to them.

What sets us apart: person-centred care
Our supports are flexible and regularly reviewed to ensure they continue to meet each person’s changing needs and aspirations. We encourage participants to make their own choices, remain in control of their supports, and build the skills and confidence needed to achieve greater independence. What sets Achieve Independence apart is our genuine commitment to person-centred care. We focus on building trusted, long-term relationships rather than simply delivering services.

Our core values: guiding our every action
At Achieve Independence, our values are at the heart of everything we do. They guide the way we support participants, work with families, and build strong relationships within our communities.
Respect: We treat every person with dignity, compassion, and respect, valuing their choices, culture, beliefs, and individuality.
Person-Centred Support: Every participant is unique. We tailor our services to each person’s goals, strengths, preferences, and aspirations, ensuring they remain at the centre of every decision.
Empowerment: We believe everyone has the right to make their own choices and live as independently as possible. We support participants to build confidence, develop new skills, and achieve their personal goals.
Integrity: We act with honesty, transparency, and accountability in everything we do. Participants and their families can trust us to deliver reliable, ethical, and high-quality support.
Inclusion: We are committed to creating opportunities

Real impact: stories of independence
Every participant’s journey is unique, and we’re proud to support people in achieving goals that matter most to them. Here are a few examples of the positive impact Achieve Independence strives to make.
Building confidence and independence: One participant wanted to become more independent in everyday life but lacked the confidence to manage daily tasks and travel alone. With personalised support and encouragement, they gradually developed skills in meal preparation, budgeting, and using public transport. Over time, they gained the confidence to attend appointments independently, participate in community activities, and enjoy greater freedom in their daily life.
Creating community connections: Another participant had become socially isolated and wanted to make
